Nigeria is not typically know for Natural disasters but such disasters are unavoidable as some of its citizens have been affected by a landslide which took place at the state of Cross Rivers, Calabar.
This incident occurred on Thurday the 5th of September 2013.
Officials of the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), acting through the government of Cross Rivers State, stated that a disaster warning was issued to residents of severe flood prone areas before the incident occurred. The much expected disaster occurred as a result of a heavy down pour of rain which lasted over a period of 5 hours.
9 people lost their lives when the land slide occurred and the bodies of the victims have been taken to the General Hospital Mortuary.
